A discreet application of wood sets off slightly riper but still cool aromas of apple, pear and lavender along with oyster shell, iodine and seashore hints. There is more body to the richer and more concentrated flavors that remain light on their feet thanks to the firm but not aggressive acidity on the caressing and well-balanced finale. This is already drinking well but clearly has the stuffing to reward 4 to 6 years of cellar time. Lovely stuff.
Pale, bright yellow. Lovely high-pitched scents of white flowers and iodiney sea shell are complemented by a touch of smoky, spicy oak. Concentrated, saline and energetic, conveying a strong spiciness to its yellow peach fruit. This will need time to absorb its oak element, but its very long, slowly mounting finish and impression of salty extract suggest that it will reward patience. Suggests higher acidity than the Montée de Tonnerre.(ST)
