This is an intriguing Rhone-like Cabernet Sauvignon with a Provencal nose of olives, iodine, black cherries, tobacco, and weedy cassis. Medium to full-bodied and lush, with plenty of spice, this is an exotic, delicious wine (although not exactly what I think of as North Coast Cabernet) that should drink well for 12-15 years. (RP)
Dense and a touch leathery, with herb, currant, plum and berry notes, finishing with dry, tealike tannins. Best to cellar into 2001 in hopes it softens.
