95 points and #11 in Wine Spectators Top 100 Wines of 1995: "A truly exciting, beautifully proportioned, rich and vibrant red. Has a delicious core of ripe black cherry, raspberry, anise and plum, finishing with depth and smooth, polished tannins. Drink now through 1999. 200 cases made." (09/95) 95 points Robert Parker: "The 1993 Hayne Vineyard is one of the greatest Zinfandels I have ever tasted. Produced from a tiny, head-pruned vineyard planted in 1910 near the town of St. Helena, it exhibits the most saturated color, as well as a huge, fragrant nose of licorice, black fruits, spicy oak, and pepper. The wine is super-rich, with layers of full-bodied flavors that reveal ripe fruit, well-integrated tannin, and a dry, heady, blockbuster finish. Velvety-textured, massive but not overbearing or heavy, it is an extraordinary Zinfandel that should drink well for 10-15+ years. I profiled the 1993 Aida Vineyard, Hayne Vineyard and Moore Vineyard from cask in issue #96. The wines have now been bottled and most are quickly being purchased by a highly supportive group of Zinfandel fanatics that make up the Turley Cellars' mailing list. The three wines were all bottled without fining or filtration, so all are dense, dark-colored wines. My bottle tastings reflected precisely my preferences from barrel (I liked all the wines but had my favorites)." (06/95)
