Napa Valley wine lovers will know the name Al Brounstein as one of the legends of the region, a man whose tiny winery produced "cult" wines before "cult" was a thing--epic, long-lived, terroir-driven wines that were well ahead of their time. The Red Rock Terrace vineyard is prized for its high iron content, producing wines that, according to Brounstein's successor in the cellar, Phil Steinschreiber, have: "velvety tannins, rich and well balanced, medium dark ruby color with cherry, mint and black currant flavors."
