This perfectly cellared Cabernet from a fantastic vintage features deep color with a savory and cedary profile--at this age the cedar characteristic being from the St-Julien-like Cabernet fruit rather than oak. Gravelly mineral with excellent concentration and length are on full display. The Terraces is an estate wine grown in the eastern benchland of Rutherford in rocky volcanic soil. The estate made its first wines in the mid-1980s, but their winemaking facility was not complete until 1991. The earliest wines like this one were acutally made at Caymus.
