The 1987 typifies Pichon-Lalande in its graceful, velvety texture, rich, cassis-scented and flavored fruit, medium body, and satiny finish. It is faithful to the style of wine sought by the chateau. Offering a fragrant, velvety mouthful of ruby-colored wine... It remains one of my favorite wines of the vintage.
Elegant and well balanced, with ripe currant, bell pepper, spice and vanilla notes. Complex and well proportioned, with a touch of tobacco, this has more flavor than most from this vintage.
