Very, very deep, blackish crimson. Dusty. Scented. Correct. Gentle, but quite a bit of vigorous tannins at the end. Quite surprisingly chewy.
This fully mature 1982 displays a weedy, herbaceous character interwoven with notions of earth, fruitcake, cherry jam, and spice box. Representative of the old style Pavies, it is moderately endowed, with ripe tannin, but not a great deal of concentration. (RP)
Good saturated full red. Exotic nose combines roasted raspberry, minerals and coffee; slight suggestions of old wine. Then sweet and minerally in the mouth, with nicely firm-edged fruit and good flavor delineation. Finish shows a slight dry edge and a hint of greenness. Best today in the middle palate. (ST)
Youthful ruby color, with a garnet edge. Floral and perfumed, with a berry undertone on the nose. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a pretty, straightforward fruit aftertaste. (JS)
