Hard cedar and wood aromas give way to enticing, spicy cherry pie, plum and blackberry flavors that evolve and grow on you. Still very dense and tannic, it truly needs aeration, so decant about an hour before serving. (JL)
The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon has developed well. It is performing far stronger than it did when I first tasted it a year ago. The wine possesses a dark saturated purple color, a sweet, truffle, cassis-scented nose, and dense, powerful, full-bodied flavors with considerable glycerin, extract, and tannin. It reveals more sweetness of fruit, as well as a more expansive, chewy texture than it displayed immediately after bottling. (RP)
Good medium-deep red. Inviting claret-like scents of plum, mocha, leather, dried flowers and chocolate. The most pliant vintage to this point but a bit minty, even green-edged. Fairly intense licorice, herb and balsamic flavors lead to a firm-edged finish featuring dusty tannins... (ST)
