The medium ruby-colored 1999 Pinot Noir Goldridge Vineyard offers copious amounts of cherry fruit along with tart acidity in a premier cru Cotes de Beaune style. This crisp, medium-bodied, flavorful Pinot requires consumption over the next 5-6 years. (RP)
Moderately saturated medium red. Expressive aromas of red cherry, raspberry, mocha and milk chocolate. Sweet, lush and on the soft side, with a minerally nuance. Seems virtually ready to drink and a bit evolved, but fresher than the '98 at a similar stage. Offers modest density but some complexity. Finishes with light tannins. (ST)
Very pretty, sweet fruit evoked “baked apple,” “strawberry pie” and “cherry-chocolate” descriptors from our panelists. Bright acidity shows with a modest tang. Intriguing sandalwood and citrus notes add interest on the long finish. Has unique elements and a solid fruit platform.
Lively acidity props up the rich, juicy plum, berry and black cherry flavors nicely, with a touch of cedar and spice folding in. Long, lingering, mildly tannic finish.
