Bid on this bottle of 1968 Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. In 1967, Freemark Abbey was purchased by seven partners who set the stage for a new era of creativity and innovation in winemaking. One of the visionaries was winemaker Brad Webb, formerly of Hanzell Vineyards, who immediately put into place improvements in both the vineyards and the winery. The 1968 vintage was epic for Napa, both in terms of emerging superstar wineries on the California scene (Mayacamas, Heitz, Mondavi) and for the quality of the wines. A warm, long growing season brought the grapes to a succulent ripeness and purity of fruit that shines through to this day.
