Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru "En Caillerets" ((90-93ST), 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Bright ruby-red. Hints of game, sexy oak and minerals on the nose. Sweet, suave and seamless; more complex than the 60 Ouvrees but less obviously vibrant today. Showing more stony influence than primary fruit. Finishes a bit edgy, with a hint of chocolate. (ST)" (01/2012)

A lightly spiced nose evidences a hint of smoke as well as plenty of minerality on the ripe cassis, plum and violet infused nose. There is excellent richness and mid-palate concentration to the suave, round and mouth coating flavors that possess fine delineation before terminating in a mineral-inflected, dusty and impressively persistent finish. Lovely. *Outstanding*
Dense, ripe, red and black fruit and new oak on the nose and lifted fragrance. Brisk and generous, with upfront fruit, which is thick and dark with touches of damson. Forward and supple, long and ripe, this is firm but fruity, but needs time in bottle.
