Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Alain Voge "Les Chailles" Cornas (95RP, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The opaque purple-colored 2010 Cornas Les Chailles offers up scents of smoked game and charcoal, a full-bodied mouthfeel, supple tannins and pedal-to-the metal richness and density. Already drinkable, it has at least 15 years of aging potential. ... The three 2010 Cornas represent the pinnacle of Voge’s winemaking. They are the finest wines I have yet tasted from this estate (and I’ve been tasting their wines since the late seventies). (RP)" (12/2012)

Inky ruby. Blackberry, cherry-cola and violet on the highly perfumed nose. Sappy and concentrated but lively as well, offering intense dark berry flavors that are given spine and lift by juicy acidity. Finishes on a gently chewy note, with excellent clarity and slow-building tannins. 92(+?)

This has a light dusting of juniper, with steeped plum and blackberry fruit at the core. Bay leaf, dark olive and allspice flavors fill in on the finish, along with a tangy white pepper note. Shows nice purity and definition. (JL)
