Bid on this bottle of 2013 Foxen "Bien Nacido Vineyard - Block 8" Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir (95RP, 95WE, 93CG, 93VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An incredible, profound Pinot Noir, Foxen's 2013 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 8 was completely destemmed and aged 17 months in 50% new French oak. Its deep ruby color is followed by sensational notes of sweet cherries, black raspberries, crushed flowers and a touch of licorice. Medium to full-bodied, layered and multi-dimensional, with seamless texture, this is California Pinot Noir at its finest. (JD)" (08/2015)

Cinnamon spice and pomegranate fruit give a soft touch to minerally driven aromas of black slate and wet cement on the nose of this block-designated (and trademarked!) wine. The wine's tannic grip and tartness are apparent on the texturally distinct palate before raspberry, hibiscus and rose petal flavors settle into a long, rich finish. (MK)
As succulent as it is constant in very deep fruit and showing the classic velvety feel of top-flight Pinot Noir, this rich and wonderfully polished offering ranks as our favorite of the very fine Foxen lot. It is full on the palate and yet always lively and light on its feet with outstanding persistence and focus, and, while it will hold up famously with age, it is so well-crafted and its varied pieces are so seamlessly joined that waiting will not come easy. *Two Stars*
A powerful, structured wine, the 2013 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 8 is literally bursting at the seams with explosive energy. A host of savory herbs, smoke, licorice and tobacco open up in the glass, but this is a wine to put a way for a few years, as the elements still need time to come together. The firm, grippy finish and the wine's overall delineation are both striking. (AG)
A delicate, detailed style, showing subtle nuances of gravelly earth, raspberry and cherry, with touches of spice, flowers and dried herbs. Ends with a mix of graphite and berry. (JL)
