It possesses a stunning nose of lead pencil aromas (a Mouton-Rothschild smell-alike), cassis, tobacco, vanillin, and cedar. The wine's opaque purple color suggests (and the flavors confirm it) great concentration. There are chocolatey, cassis flavors that ooze from the wine's innards. Full, rich, and spectacularly well-balanced with adequate acidity and moderate tannin in the blockbuster finish, this is a monumental example of a Tuscan Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon blend.
