Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Harlan "The Maiden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97WE, 94WS, 92RP, 91ST). Wine Enthusiast: "The ’04 Maiden is very close to Harlan Estate in quality. The Maiden is a touch less elegant; but it is such a wholesome wine, so succulent in blackberry, cassis, licorice, and roasted cedar. The tannins are so regal—even the slight prickle of acidity works for polish. *Cellar Selection*" (12/2007)

2004 Harlan "The Maiden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (qty: 2)
The ’04 Maiden is very close to Harlan Estate in quality. The Maiden is a touch less elegant; but it is such a wholesome wine, so succulent in blackberry, cassis, licorice, and roasted cedar. The tannins are so regal—even the slight prickle of acidity works for polish. *Cellar Selection*
Big, dark, rich, intense and firmly tannic, with a massive, layered core of spicy currant, mocha, black cherry and blackberry fruit that's deep and concentrated, unfolding with a remarkable measure of grace and finesse. (JL)
The second wine from Harlan Estate, the 2004 The Maiden shows plenty of cedary Christmas fruitcake and creme de cassis notes, a touch of vanillin and a rich, opulent mouthfeel (no tannins stick out whatsoever). The wine is plush, succulent, and altogether hedonistic and intellectually satisfying. (RP)
Full, deep ruby. Explosive aromas of red- and blackcurrant, tobacco, minerals and menthol. Sweet and fine-grained, with terrific fruit intensity and balance for a second wine-and a sense of completeness. Vinous, ripely tannic and long, but the tannins of the 2005 are more refined. (ST)
