High-pitched red berry and spicecake scents show very good clarity and pick up a smoky mineral overtone with air. Juicy and lithe on the palate, offering intense black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that take a sweeter turn on the back half. 100% whole cluster. Bottled. Light crimson. A little more obviously stemmy on the nose than the Morgon. Fresh raspberry fruit, succulent and delicious with a firm but supple tannin texture. Fresh and complete. (JH)
