Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Riesling Zeltinger Himmelreich Auslese ** (Green Capsule) is terribly fine, pure and fresh but also perfectly ripe and rich on the nose without losing precision. Round and highly elegant on the palate, with tropical fruit flavors and just the perfect amount of sweetness, this is a great, vital Himmelreich with superb finesse, purity, mineral tension and bright fruit notes in the long and beautifully slatey finish. Lemon and lime refreshment of a very high order, but on the palate, it is creamy and dreamy rather than acidic. A long silky and elegant finish. Drink or hold.

Mint, rowan and honeysuckle on the nose anticipate the billowing sense of inner-mouth floral perfume on a buoyant, silken palate. While the sense of sweetness in this 'two-star' Auslese is very modest, there is less focus or primary juiciness to the finish than in the very best of Molitor’s 2016s. In compensation, one is treated to a remarkably vivid impression of perfumed persistence. (DS)
