Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà is an impeccable wine that shows the strength, generosity and elegance that this important vineyard site is known for. Most significant is the wine's structure that is endearing and firm but also supple. It shows power and a silken touch. Dark fruit, spice, licorice and herb make for a perfect fusion of aromas. The mouthfeel shows balanced power and vigor. This wine will improve with time. It is at the mere beginning of a long evolution. (ML)" (06/2015)

2009 Produttori del Barbaresco "Rabaja" Barbaresco Riserva (qty: 4)
This is very aromatic and sexy with flowers and berries such as raspberries and cherries. It's full-bodied, intensely fruity, super-silky and racy. A complex wine with glorious aromas but a firm, linear structure. Needs at least three to four years to soften: Better in 2017.

Dark cherries, menthol, cloves, cinnamon and leather wrap around the palate in the 2009 Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà. A rich, layered, enveloping wine, the Rabajà is a wine that shows plenty of character and personality. Deep, implosive and full of personality, the Rabajà is another wine that delivers tons of character, class and personality. (AG) 94+
Aromas of underbrush, leather, crushed blue flower, incense and balsamic notes lead the nose on this gorgeous wine. The palate delivers succulent black cherry layered with white pepper and clove alongside bracing tannins. (KO)
Rabajà is a southwest-facing slope with calcareous soils mixed with sand. It grew a hugely powerful Barbaresco in 2009, forward in its layered flavors of anise, foresty mushroom and tart cherry, backwards in its heavy blanket of tannins. For a moment, the tannins seem to be everywhere in the wine, forcing the juice to press through them, lending richness to the texture while seeming to hold the brightness of the wine as well. In the end, freshness cuts through the purple anise depths so the wine lasts with a red glow and the woodland scent of porcini.
Good full, dark red. Complex, perfumed aromas and flavors of black cherry, tobacco, licorice and wild herbs. Ripe, opulent and silky, with a lovely thickness of texture leavened by harmonious acidity. Finishes with firm, suave tannins and excellent length. (ST)
