This happy sounding white is made from the local Favorita grape. Winemaking is followed with freshness and drinkability in mind, with skinless fermentation and very brief aging in stainless steel tanks. The color is a light straw yellow color, and the nose, as expected, is delicate and tingling with acacia flower notes. On the palate, this pleasantly tart white is slightly fizzy, which makes the wine even more palate cleansing and enlivening. Favorita, which has been linked genetically to vermentino, "used to be the favorite table grape in the Langhe, which is why it got its name," explains Gianni's enologist son Stefano Gagliardo. Enjoy as an aperitif, especially alongside toasts with smoked salmon.
