One of the top successes of the vintage, the 1984 Lynch-Bages, which is nearly 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, is a forceful, fleshy, supple wine with plenty of herbaceous-scented, ripe fruit, a round, generous texture, and good length. (RP)
Amber-tinged medium red. A touch of volatile acidity blows off with aeration to reveal aromas of underbrush, tobacco and faded flowers. The tobacco and underbrush elements carry through onto the palate, where they are joined by slightly sweeter notes of redcurrant, quinine and cedar. Finishes clean and smooth, with modest length.
