The 2000 De Pez is a mid-weight St-Estephe still exhibiting some rugged tannins and a slightly dusty earthiness, but with nice black currant and black cherry notes, a healthy color, and little evolution since I tasted it out of the bottle in 2003.
Beautiful, clear aromas of bright currants, spices and licorice. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a medium finish. Lacks some concentration, but very well-crafted.
