Bright red-ruby. Aromas of currant, orange peel and clove. Juicy, penetrating and complex, with notes of briary berries, cherry pit, bitter chocolate, coffee, pepper and spices. Supple but firm-edged. Firmly tannic finish features excellent peppery persistence.
The medium to full-bodied, elegant 2001 Zinfandel Sonoma Station (84% Zinfandel and the remainder Petite Sirah and Carignan) exhibits notes of cherries, raspberries, and balsam wood in its stylish, gracious personality. It easily carries its 14.5% alcohol.
