No slouch either, the Goldridge bottling is a softer, more open rendition with good focus and a rounded underbelly to its ripe cherry and rich oak flavors. Obvious and easy to like, it will hold a bit but does not appear to offer the same aging rewards that are possessed by its mates.
There are 1,600 cases of the 2001 Pinot Noir Goldridge Vineyard, a dark ruby-colored effort reminiscent of a premier cru from the Cote de Beaune. Aromas and flavors of pomegranate, apple skins, as well as sweet and sour cherries are present in this medium-bodied, suave, elegant, tasty Pinot. (RP)
Medium red. Plum and strawberry fruit aromas complicated by underbrush and earth; very pinot. Sweet, full and intensely flavored, with nicely integrated acidity giving the wine a juicy character. Not yet complex but boasts nicely concentrated fruit and finishes with easygoing tannins.
Appealing for its ripe, fleshy wild berry and blackberry jam flavors, picking up a cola, herb and spicy quality on the aftertaste.
