The 2002 Claret (59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, and 13% Cabernet Franc) boasts deep, cedary, black currant fruit, medium to full body, broad flavors, and a long, pure finish. (RP)
Marked by plenty of winemaking polish and filling the niche of a well-mannered middleweight, this appropriately titled effort eschews mass, muscle and tannins in favor of clarity and clear-cut fruit.
Good full ruby-red. Aromas of cassis, blueberry, roasted plum, melted chocolate, smoke and earth. Lush and silky, with chocolatey flavors showing an almost porty ripeness. Very broad but not overly sweet. Finishes with a wave of dusty tannins.
Has peaked and reached a nice plateau. This complex red shows loamy earth and claylike flavors to underscore the ripe currant, mint, dried herb and black cherry fruit, ending with crushed rock notes. (Web-2012)
