**Cellar Selection** Enormously rich and concentrated California Cab, brimming with flavors of black cherry, boysenberry and chocolate, with spicy, cedary notes. Turns rich, firm and creamy all at the same time.
The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder exhibits an opaque purple color as well as a gorgeously complex bouquet of cassis, vanillin, minerals, and blueberries. Structured, full-bodied, and opulently-textured, this thick, rich, youthful 1997 will be even better with another 2-3 years of cellaring; it will age well for two decades. This is an immensely admirable offerings from Robert Craig. This impressive, concentrated red reflects a synthesis between the elegant, austere Bordeaux-styled Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, and the extravagant, ripe, jammy characteristics found in wines fashioned from California's warmer micro-climates as well as richer soils.
Black and burly, with notes of dill and horsehide. That it’s opaque makes sense, given its heavy black-currant and coffee notes. Quite mammoth in proportions, maybe even bordering on syrupy.
