One of only a few rums distilled in the U.S. and the first rum to be distilled commercially in an a direct-fire, all copper Alambic Charentais pot still. 90-95 points and "Superb/Highly Recommended" by the Wine Enthusiast: "ale yellow color reminiscent of new vintage Muscadet from France’s Loire Valley. Initial sniffings detect the plump, oily presence of vanilla extract; aeration adds hints of cocoa butter, egg cream and vanilla. Palate entry is a touch sharp, but creamy and buttery; midpalate, the cream thins out and the vanilla bean element becomes leaner. Finishes bittersweet, clean and vanilla-like."
