Sourced from some of the winery's oldest estate vineyards, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cab Franc is a tribute to the Andrus family who founded Pine Ridge. The grapes underwent extended maceration and were aged in toasted, mostly new French oak barrels to achieve a depth of flavor and fruit. The result is a big, voluptuous wine that will drink well for ages. According to the winery: "This medium- to full-bodied wine exhibits a layered bouquet of butter, toffee, brown sugar, sweet cranberry, baked berries, vanilla and cocoa powder. Its silky texture features toasty notes and a mid-palate of cherry, blackberry, blueberry and mocha flavors. The 2001 vintage is a balanced wine boasting a long, silky, buttery finish accented by flavors of brown sugar, cocoa and latte. Cellaring for ten years or more will enhance its character."
