Jerry Seps is well-known for his bevy of high quality Zinfandels, but he also makes small quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2002 is a well-made, elegant, slightly chunky wine that does not possess the nuances and complexity of the finest Cabernets. Its dark ruby/purple color is accompanied by earthy, berry fruit intermixed with hints of bay leaf and underbrush. This medium to full-bodied offering is best consumed over the next 7-8 years. (RP)
Deep ruby-red. Aromas of currant, espresso, licorice, chocolate and woodsmoke. Fat, generous and pliant, with plush, rather Old School dark berry and tar flavors. Spicy and not overly sweet in the middle, but finishes with a burst of fresh fruits. Tannins are firm and dusty but not dry. (ST)
