This wine represents Ambullneo's first foray into northern California, in this case, Carneros. Fruit was sourced from blocks in the Hyde and Hudson Vineyards formerly farmed by the famed Tony Soter (Etude Vineyards, Beacon Hill). The Hyde block is located just above Paul Hobbs' block. The juice from Hyde showed more of the dark spectrum of flavors, while the Hudson fruit leaned more to the red. Although infants, the wines are displaying flavors associated with great pinot such as forest floor, white flowers, spices and a huge spectrum of the aforementioned fruits. This will be a very concentrated pinot not for the faint of heart.
