Tasting Notes

92 points Robert Parker: "From a vineyard utilized in Beringer’s Private Reserve Cabernet, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Rancho del Oso boasts a saturated purple color along with a big, dense nose of plums, black currants, crushed rocks, and vanilla. Long, full-bodied, and powerful, it requires 2-4 more years of bottle age, and should last through 2016." (02/05) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Pretty currant, cola and mocha aromas lead to a rich, intense core of wild berry and blackberry fruit that's well-focused and persistent on the finish, with a long, firm tannic edge but also fruit pushing through. New from Beringer winemaker Ed Sbragia. Drink now through 2012. 550 cases made." (11/04)
