Tasting Notes

K&L's notes - We drank both this and the 1947 in April 2005. They were stunning--delicate, elegant and delicious. Only a few cases available. According to Robert Parker: "This outstanding property in Labarde in the southern part of the Margaux appellation is making consistentlt delicious, fragrant, deeply colored wines that are frequently in a quality level with a Medoc fifth-growth. The estate is owned and managed by William Alain B. Miailhem a meticulous grower, who produces in an average year 12,000 cases of rich, flavorful, polished wine that admirably reflects the Margaux appellation. The wine is also distinguished by a Mouton-Rothschild-like label that boasts a different artist's painting each year... Above all, this is a wine that repays the patient consumer because of its ability to support extended cellaring." (Bordeaux Book, 1998)
