90 points and one star from the Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine: "A measured Merlot leading with scents of red cherries and sweet plums buttressed by creamy, slightly caramelly oak, this bottling is fairly full in weight and well-balanced throughout. Its flavors again favor both ripe cherries and plums and look to a streak of fine-grained tannins for support. Polish and precision make this one a wine to remember." (March 2007) From winemaker Heidi Peterson Barrett. This 2003 wine shows off wide open aromas of ripe plum and cherry with layers of subtle sweet toasty French oak for spice. It is very round and silky in the mouth with flavors that match the aromas. The tannins are very soft. The mid-palate has good structure and a wonderful texture. A wine that is very enjoyable and easy to drink.
