This one is still on the youthful and reticent side and takes some time in the glass to evolve, but it gradually allows a good look at nicely oaked, medium-deep, curranty fruit before deferring to fairly hard-charging tannins. It clearly possesses the basic material for success, but it is also very clear in its need for age. Tag it for drinking in 2012, and know that it may grow for much longer.
Lots of red fruits are evident on the nose and palate, with red cherry, black cherry and red currant. Firm and structured, this is a deftly balanced young wine supported by firm, fine-grained tannins. (JL)
