This Cabernet Sauvignon takes its name in honor of the Edinburgh Tattoo, a Scottish festival which takes place each year on the esplanade of historic Edinburgh Castle. Tattoo is also an appropriate name for this big, inky wine that leaves its mark. These grapes are grown on an eastern exposed terraced hillside at an elevation of 1400 feet. The berries are small and concentrated, the soil is steep and cobbled, and the pines at the perimeter of the vineyard stand tall, whistling in the afternoon breeze. This is mountain wine.
