Founded in 1973 by Jack and Dolores Cakebread, Cakebread Cellars is one of the best known family owned and operated producers in California. Their goal in the vineyard is to get fully ripe grapes, but with a lower Brix value. This is to create a more restrained style of wine. Also, Cakebread Cellars is a green-certified winery, and its vineyards are green-certified and either farmed organically or sustainably.
