*Outstanding* A potent mix of citrus and white flower aromas leap from the glass to reveal rich, full and seductively sappy flavors that maintain the same linear and understated elegance of the Les Cras but adds even more breadth and depth, especially on the incredibly long backend. This is a seriously impressive Charmes with abundant extract yet it remains a wine of balance and harmony.
The 2002 Meursault Charmes boasts a nose of apples and buttered toast. Light to medium-bodied, displaying admirable depth, density, and freshness, this pure, slate and apple-flavored effort is concentrated and well-balanced. (PR)
Lemon, lime and spices on the nose. Very ripe but brisk orange and lemon flavors show an exotic aspect as well as terrific cut. Hiding its substantial fat today. Finishes very long, with a note of vanillin oak. Boillot used about 50% new oak for his 2002 crus. (ST)
