The 2003 Merlot’s dark plum/purple color is followed by a big, chocolaty, espresso roast nose with blackberry and sweet cherry fruit, tremendous opulence, full body, and not a hard edge to be found.
Medium red color. Candied, high-toned aromas of red berry liqueur and caramel. Concentrated and quite sweet but firm and a bit restrained at present, showing a medicinal licorice and mint character to go with its ripe berries. Not a particularly lush style of merlot, but the finish is sweet and the tannins ripe. Late note of vanillin oak
