Tasting Notes

92 points Robert Parker: "A beautifully made wine, the 1982 is my favorite La Lagune of the last 20 years. It has a sweet fragrance of toasty oak and ripe black-cherries and currants. It is a powerful, full-bodied La Lagune with super concentration and a thick, juicy personality. There are no signs of color degradation. It is a classic 1982 that appears to be a synthesis in style between a right bank Pomerol and a more austere Medoc. Complex and rich, as well as more structured than I initially believed, this wine should achieve full maturity by the end of the decade, and last through the first two decades of the next century." (12/95) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Very dark garnet-red, with an inky center. Ripe berry and tobacco aromas. Medium- to full-bodied, with tobacco, raspberry and light toasted oak flavors. Silky finish. Outstanding.'" (11/98)
