This one stands clearly apart from the rest of its kin in that it is a broader, more obviously ripened and somewhat viscous, fuller-bodied wine as opposed its slightly more measured and brighter siblings. It does, however, share in the very deep and generous fruit that marks every one of the Williams Selyem 2004s, and, in this wine, that fruit is a bit riper, a bit more black-cherry-like and carries a mild suggestion of milk chocolate along with it. *Good Value, Two Stars*
Smooth black raspberry flavors create a ripe and lasting impression in this Pinot Noir. The acidity has a tart red apple skin character, tied into the silky tannin. Serve it with duck.
The nose is slightly fresher and brighter with slightly deeper aromas of red pinot fruity and hints of earth and underbrush preceding sweet, intense and vibrant flavors that aren't especially complex but possess good finish pop and I like the energy here.
Medium red. Enticing aromas of strawberry, cherry and spices. Gentle, ripe and full, with a warm, broad flavor of strawberry. Not especially complex but pretty and accessible. (ST)
Tart but super-tasty, this wine has cola, red cherry pie, pomegranate and cinnamon spice flavors wrapped into a silky, crisp mouthfeel. It’s totally dry and modest in alcohol, showing real elegance and finesse.
Good intensity and depth to the cola, wild berry, earth, sage and mineral flavors. Gains complexity, if only modestly, on the finish. (JL)
