Margaret Wierenga (Margi) was just a teenage when her father, Burt Williams, started making the first Williams Selyem wines in a subterranean bathtub beneath the garage in the late 1970s. After years working at his winery in Fulton she took a paid position at the Westside Road facility in 1993, worked at Hop Kiln and finally, in 1998, decided to start her own winery. The Pinot Noir fruit for this wine come from Lone Redwood Ranch along Mark West Creek.
