Morey almost never misses with this wine and the 2005 version is flat out sensational for its level. An expressive and beautifully airy nose of ripe peach, pear and hazelnut complements the rich, full and sweet flavors that possess ample dry extract and mid-palate fat that buffer completely the firm core of ripe acidity that confers an austere and chiseled quality to the powerfully long finish. I very much like the impressive potential here and this is definitely worth a look as villages level wines rarely offer this kind of quality or aging potential.
