When I tasted this in Burgundy, I was most impressed. Jouan has been getting better and better for the last several vintages, and this turned out to be a truly impressive bottle of premier cru Morey, with black and red fruit notes and an impressive finish. Look off the beaten path for great values in 2005, and you can, indeed find them, without spending $100. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer) Allen Meadows writes: "Olivier Jouan founded his operation in 2000 and organically farms 9 ha that is divided between 5.5 ha in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits and 3.5 ha in Morey, Chambolle and Charmes-Chambertin."
