91 points from Robert Parker: "The 2005 Pazzo is a gorgeously hedonistic, flavorful blend of 73% Sangiovese and the rest small amounts of Petite Sirah, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and even a touch of the white varietal, Viognier. A fragrant perfume of sweet roasted herbs, kirsch, black currants, and pepper jumps from the glass of this supple-textured, fleshy wine. The ideal bistro-styled red, it will be fun to drink over the next 2-3 years. While proprietor Claus Janzen continues to fine-tune his Cabernet Sauvignon program, the strength of his portfolio remains his innovative blends." (Dec. 2007) Pazzo is the Italian word for crazy, but drinking "Pazzo" from winemaker Claus Janzen's Bacio Divino is anything but. With the assistance of winemaking and viticultural consultants Nils and Kirk Venge, this unconventional blend combines 73% sangiovese with 14% cabernet sauvignon, 7% petite sirah, 4% viognier, 1% syrah and 1% muscat canelli into a wine that is balanced and fresh. Aged in new and one-year old French and Hungarian oak barrels, the Pazzo is crazy with cherry fruit and wood spice. The 2004 vintage was awarded 90 points by Robert Parker and described as "Outstanding."
