Tasting Notes

93 points Robert Parker: "The 2005 Pinot Noir "Dussin Vineyard" spent 10 months in 30% new French oak. Medium ruby-colored, it offers a lovely perfume of smoke, leather, red cherry, and cassis. This leads to a medium-bodied, lush wine with sweet, spicy fruit, uplifting acidity and integrated tannins. There is excellent depth length to this unusually friendly 2005." (10/07) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Generous and distinctive, weaving dusky spice and mineral notes into the ripe currant and berry flavors, which mingle effortlessly as the finish rolls on and on. Has a strong personality but doesn't push over the top. Drink now through 2015." (08/07) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Ripe, chocolatey kirsch and cassis on the nose, with exotic accents of Indian spices and cured tobacco. Weighty and creamy, with sweet dark berry liqueur and mocha flavors, supple tannins and a long, sappy finish. Quintessential New World pinot that would be great with spicy grilled red meats or fatty cheeses." (May/June 07)
