91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this is a dry, full-bodied wine that show considerable sophistication and elegance. Fruit aficionados will find a wealth of blackberries, cherries and cocoa, while structuralists will like the firm tannins and acids. Quite good now and for a few years." (02/10) The Decoy from Duckhorn does an incredible job impersonating a Bordeaux-style blend that costs twice the price. The 2007 vintage is comprised of equal parts Cab and Merlot, with small amounts of Cab Franc and Petit Verdot; the vintage allowed for a long, slow harvest, and it shows here, with balanced, ripe flavors. The wine starts off with an impressive display of red fruit on the nose - cranberry, raspberry - and spice-spiked cherry cobbler. That all carries over to the palate, which is layered with fruit, subtle flavors of orange zest, almond skin and espresso. Already starting to show its stuff, this will drink well over the next five years.
