Failla's 2006 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir blends fruit from a number of their Sonoma Coast sources including Keefer Ranch and Hirsch Vineyard. Treated with the same delicacy as the single-vineyard pinots, this wine utilizes some of the sites' younger-vine blocks. Pomegranate and cherry aromas work in consort with spicy, toasty oak and caramel notes that continue on the palate. Fine-grained tannins and a rich, almost sappy mouthfeel frame the wine's mid-palate fruit and balance out the acidity on the elegant finish.
