91 points Wine Spectator: "Creamy-textured, smooth and polished, with supple cranberry, blueberry and black cherry fruit that's ripe and polished, ending with a long, soothing finish that gains depth and complexity." (Web only, 2008) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light red color. Subtle redcurrant and wild strawberry aromas are complicated by musky herbs, baking spices, rose and underbrush. Pliant raspberry and cherry compote flavors offer excellent palate coverage, with an alluring weightlessness and gentle mineral lift. An understated, silky wine that finishes with sweet red berry flavors and very good persistence." (May/June '08) Winemaker/proprietor Ryan Zepaltas blends fruit from La Cruz, Suacci and W.E. Bottoms Vineyard for his vivacious 2006 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Nuanced on the nose it's already showing complex aromas of herbs, black cherry, earth and ripe red raspberry fruit. In the mouth, it's juicy and fresh with even more red fruit balanced by baking spice and hints of cedar. Its balanced acidity makes it a great food wine, but also drinks great on its own.
