A very warm, generous, ripe wine, this comes from the most precocious of the grand cru vineyards. It is packed with yellow fruits, rich and open. This is opulence in a glass, boosted by toast and spice. (RV)
While notably ripe the nose retains admirable freshness and plenty of Chablis character with floral, citrus, iodine, seaweed and oyster shell hints. In much the same vein, there is a saline character to the round, rich and succulent medium-bodied flavors that possess good verve and solid power on the detailed, balanced and impressively persistent finish. This is a really lovely wine that is at once very '05 yet is refreshing, vibrant and utterly delicious plus the abundant dry extract really coats on the mouth.
Pale, green-tinged color. Very ripe aromas of dried apricot, peach and almond, with vibrant notes of lime and mint. Strong on the attack, then concentrated, juicy and firm, with an almost phenolic edge to the fruit. This boasts terrific volume. Finishes powerful and long, with a palate-dusting quality. This is still quite expressive due to an oxygenation at the bottling but will probably shut down soon. The crop level in this south-facing parcel was about 35 hectoliters per hectare, says Seguier.
