*Cellar Selection* Using the old name for Bougros, this is from the steepest portion of the Bougros vineyard. The pure chalk soil gives it pronounced minerality, and it shows firm structure, with green apples, toast and a very firm, tight character. This wine definitely needs to age; give it 5–8 years. (RV)
This too displays a discreet touch of wood with citrus, oyster shell and algae notes that merge into big, muscular and robust flavors that are quite rich but not heavy or rustic, all wrapped in a sappy and palate staining finish. This is more mineral than usual as well as quite precise for such a big wine and I particularly like the sense of energy as this avoids any sense of heaviness, which is particularly impressive in the context of the vintage as some wines can be heavy.
Musky aromas of citrus fruits and gunflint. Fresh, fruity and concentrated if a bit youthfully subdued today. In a gentle, rounder style but with good spicy definition. (ST)
