The heavy clay loam soils of Oppenlander Vineyard are unique to Comptche, a hamlet just eight miles from the Pacific in Mendocino. The land was first settled in the 1860s and now produces elegant, cool-climate pinot noir. Balanced, with cherry and pomegranate notes on the nose and palate and fine, spicy tannins, this is a wonderful small-production gem to pair with almost any meal.
